Research that goes beyond registration counts
We build and analyse data that shows how domains are used, where a ccTLD stands in its home market, and what registrants pay.

How domains are used
Large-scale crawls show how registered domains are actually used - for live websites, parked pages, email or no visible service - alongside HTTPS, redirects and other technical indicators.

Home market share
We query RDAP, a more modern and structured version of WHOIS, for a large sample of gTLD domains and record the registrant country where it is published. Set against a registry's own figures, this shows the ccTLD's share of its home market, whether new registrations choose the ccTLD or a gTLD, and which registrars sell into the market.

Pricing
Our pricing tracker regularly collects the prices registrars publish on their websites, for ccTLDs and gTLDs alike. It shows how your TLD's price compares with its competitors, how prices vary between registrars, and when they change.
All collection is paced so it never burdens the systems we query, no personal data is stored, and only aggregated figures are reported.

About
A small team that knows registry data
Patrick Myles, founder and principal analyst, has worked with domain registry data since 2010, first on staff at CENTR and, since 2013, through Net Knowledge. He runs projects end to end, from data engineering through to analysis and the final chart.
Namrata Gilada, data engineer and project manager, leads much of our engineering work, including RDAP and web crawling projects. She works across pipeline design, data quality, analysis and visualisation, turning large-scale data collection into information registries can use.
